Background

BrightStor ARCserve Backup is a backup and recovery solution for multiple platforms.

Problem

A buffer overflow in the backup agent for Microsoft SQL Server allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands.

Resolution

Apply the patch for vulnerability ID 33239.
